Process Systems Engineering (PSE)


The objective of the PSE theme is the use, adaptation and development of methods and / or methodologies in the field of modeling, simulation (computational fluid dynamics (CFD)) and process optimization. More specifically, the aim is to: (i) develop the most faithful phenomenological models possible in strong and permanent interactions with experience, (ii) to solve these models using commercial or home codes, and develop, where appropriate, alternative models; (iii) to implement static, dynamic and real-time (global) optimization methods and methodologies for the design, optimization and operation of processes.


-Modeling and simulation of complex processes,
-Evaluation of the parameters of a model,
-Design of optimal experiments for the identification and validation of models,
-Simultaneous implementation of optimal experiments and identification of parameters of a model in a single run,
-Static, dynamic and mixed optimization of processes.
